Solar Price List

About Solar Price List

Independent solar price tracking and consumer education — helping homeowners cut through the noise and make confident decisions about going solar.

Our Mission

Solar Price List exists because buying solar panels is confusing and expensive — and the industry is full of inflated claims, opaque pricing, and sales pressure. We built this site to give homeowners one trustworthy, independent source for three things:

  • Real-time price data — a live, sortable table of solar panels by dollar-per-watt, pulled directly from Amazon and updated every 4 hours
  • Honest education — in-depth guides on incentives, costs, payback periods, and equipment — written without affiliate bias toward any installer or manufacturer
  • Decision-ready comparisons — side-by-side analyses of products, technologies, and state programs so you can walk into any installer conversation knowing exactly what questions to ask

How the Price Tool Works

The solar panel comparison table on our home page is powered by Amazon's Product Advertising API. Here's exactly how the data flows:

  1. Live pricing: We query Amazon's API every 4 hours to retrieve current prices, watt ratings, and product details for solar panels listed on Amazon.com.
  2. Quality filtering: We remove duplicates, out-of-stock listings, and spam products — approximately 2% of raw listings are excluded to keep the table useful.
  3. Dollar-per-watt calculation: Each panel's price is divided by its rated wattage so you can compare products of different sizes on an apples-to-apples basis.
  4. Sorting and filtering: The table is sorted by dollar-per-watt by default. Use the left sidebar to filter by brand, connector type, or panel technology (monocrystalline, polycrystalline, flexible, etc.).

Prices shown do not include shipping or taxes. Most Amazon panel listings offer free shipping, especially with Amazon Prime — always verify before ordering.

Editorial Standards

Our blog covers every dimension of the residential solar buying journey — from understanding your electricity bill to choosing between microinverters and string inverters to navigating state-by-state incentive programs. Every article we publish meets the following standards:

Verified Data

All cost figures, incentive amounts, and program details are sourced from official government sources, utility websites, and public program documentation — not manufacturer marketing materials.

Minimum 1,200 Words

We don't publish short summaries. Every guide covers its topic in enough depth to answer the questions a homeowner actually faces when making a purchase decision.

No Paid Placements

We do not accept payment from solar installers, manufacturers, or financing companies in exchange for favorable coverage or rankings in our articles.

Regularly Updated

Solar incentive programs change frequently. We review and update our state-specific guides, cost data, and product comparisons on an ongoing basis to reflect current conditions.

What We Cover

Transparency & Affiliate Disclosure

Solar Price List participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program that lets us earn commissions by linking to Amazon.com products. When you click a panel link in our price table and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.

We also display Google AdSense advertising on this site. These ads are served by Google based on your browsing history and site content — we do not control which specific ads appear.

What this means for our editorial content: Affiliate commissions and ad revenue are how we fund the site, but they do not influence our editorial recommendations. We do not rank products higher because they pay higher commissions, and we do not accept sponsored content from solar installers or manufacturers.
