Panel modules are only 15-20% of a complete installed system: fully installed residential solar in 2026 typically runs $2.50-$3.50 per watt including inverter, racking, labor and permits.

A fully installed 10 kW residential solar system in 2026 costs $25,000-$35,000 before incentives, or $17,500-$24,500 after the 30% federal Investment Tax Credit. The panel modules for a 10 kW system (25 standard 400W panels) typically cost $2,500-$6,500 depending on quality tier; installation and balance-of-system components make up the remaining 80-85% of the project cost.
